Nestled in the heart of the Central Sierra between the Mokelumne and Carson-Iceberg Wilderness areas, Bear Valley Cross Country & Adventure Company is located on all-weather Highway 4 / Ebbetts Pass, a designated National Scenic Byway.

 

Bear Valley Adventure Company is your premier destination for bike, flat water kayak and stand-up paddle board rentals. We offer sales, and repair of bikes and kayaks. We sell retail clothing and accessories, fishing and camping supplies. We also have a mini mart for your last minute needs.

We have a variety of special events and races throughout the summer, and we're your connection to all of Bear Valley's summer adventures. A variety of restaurants, lodging choices and stores can be found in the  Bear Valley Village.

 

Bear Valley is surrounded by lakes, trails and wilderness areas that provide world class recreational opportunities. We outfit, guide, rent, sell and provide information on the following activities:

Mountain & Road Biking, Flat water Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand-Up Paddle boarding, Disc Golf, Fishing, Camping, Hiking, Rock Climbing and Bouldering, Tennis, Competative Sporting Events, and Annual Festivals. Purchase a "Bear Valley Adventure Map" at our store for a complete description of rides and activities in our area.

Indian Summer Prevails

 

Lovely weather continues in the High Sierra, and activities such as hiking, bike, fishing, and even kayaking are great ways to enjoy Bear Valley.  Now is a great time to advantage of these conditions before winter arrives.

 

Sneak-a-Peak at our new website.  Over the next couple of weeks, we will be transitioning to a new online look and feel at the Bear Valley Adventures Company.

Mountain Bike Shuttles:

We now mountain bike shuttles in Bear Valley.  Using this service is a convenient way to be dropped off at trailheads above Bear Valley to enjoy local trails before heading back down to town. 
Rates and recommended drop off points listed at the bottom of this page.

 

2019 Kayaking Rates - Perception Kayaks

- All boat rentals include life jackets, paddles, roof pads, and tie down straps. Delivery to local lakes is available for an additional fee. Subject to availability.

- Reservations are accepted for Full Day (9am -4: 45pm)

 and Morning Half Day (9am-12:45pm) Rentals with a 50% deposit; 
- Afternoon Half Day (1pm-4:45pm) Rentals are available on a 1st  come, 1st served basis only.

- *Must have prior touring kayak experience

- Requirements: Prior experience; signing an additional waiver; providing proof of auto insurance (since liability is on the driver).

- ** All deliveries require a 2 boat minimum fee; are for full day only rentals; dropoff and pickups to boat ramps only; advanced reservations recommended.

2019 Bicycling Rates - Specialized and Rossignol Bicycles

- All bike rentals include use of a bicycle helmet.

- Reservations are accepted for Full Day (9am-4:45pm)

  and Morning Half Day (9am-12:45pm) Rentals with a   50% deposit.

- Afternoon Half Day (1pm-4:45pm) Rentals are available on a 1st come, 1st served basis only.

- eMountain Bike rentals must stay on OHV routes and are not allowed on non-motorized trails.

 

We also offer Mountain Bike Lessons & Tours.

Bike Shuttle Logistics:

  • Two bike minimum per trip

  • First come, first served

  • Up to 6 bikes per trip

  • Shuttles offered 9 AM- 4 PM on weekends

  • Weekdays by appointment

 

Recommended Shuttles:

  • Silvertip Campground - beginner

  • Cape Horn - intermediate & advanced

  • Koala Pass (top of the resort parking lot) - intermediate & advanced
