Ken Nash - CA Senior Winter Games  2011 Gold Medalist!	39th ANNUAL BJORNLOPPET XC SKI RACE WEEKEND & CALIFORNIA SENIOR WINTER GAMES Bear Valley Cross Country will host the 39th Annual Bjornloppet XC Ski Race and Festival on March 10th and March 11th, 2012! This is one of the longest running ski races in the west and it is open to all ages!  In addition, the California Senior Winter Games will be held that same weekend. Bjornloppet athletes age 50 and up can participate in the Bjornloppet races and use their race time results for both the Bjornloppet and for the California Senior Winter Games gold, silver and bronze medals. On Saturday, March 10th, the 20K and 10K freestyle (stride or skate) races begins at 10:30am (70+ must race in 10K). On Sunday, March 11th, the 10K and 5K stride and snowshoe races begins at 10:00am (70+ must race in 5K) Don't forget Daylight Savings Time begins--spring forward!. 	ADULT CROSS COUNTRY SKI CLASSES Join expert instructors and fellow nordic skiers for a fun, informative and social day on Thursdays, beginning January 26 through March 15. 	2ND ANNUAL SNOW-DOWN FOR HABITAT - MARCH 31, 2012 Habitat for Humanity Calaveras and Bear Valley Cross Country are teaming up for a day of cross country skiing and snowshoeing for all levels on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Along with the skiing or snowshoeing, there will be a new scavenger hunt and poker run. Check-in is from 9am to 10am. This event benefits Habitat for Humanity Calaveras and ticket prices are $50 for adults and $40 for children 12 and under. The price includes equipment rental and trail pass for the day ($10 discount if you have your own equipment), as well as lunch from 1pm -2:30pm at Sky High Pizza and Pub in the Bear Valley Village Center, along with entertainment and prize drawings during lunch. Snow-Down for Habitat is a fundraiser to help build and repair homes for people in need in Calaveras County. Tickets may be purchased at Bear Valley Cross Country prior to, and on the day of, the event. For more information call 754-5331.
